The North Beach School District includes Ocean Shores and Pacific Beach Elementary Schools. The North Beach Junior/Senior High School is located just outside the entrance gates to Ocean Shores and was built in 1989. Current district enrollment is 726 students.

The Ocean Shores public library is city owned and operated with a circulation of more than 51,800 books. Internet access and internet classes are offered to the public. The library was chartered in 1972 and is located next to the police station on Pt. Brown Avenue. |

Medical Services |

Ocean Shores medical services include Coastal Internal Medicine, North Beach Chiropractic, a physical therapist, an optometrist (one day a week), and a pharmacist. The Peninsula Community Health Services, located between Ocean City and Copalis Beach, serves the Ocean Shores area as well as the North Beach areas. The clinic also offers dental care. |

The Ocean Shores Senior Center is located on Ocean Shores Boulevard next to the Days Inn Ocean Shores. Open to the public, the center provides meals and a variety of activities and limited meeting facilities. 360.289.2801 |

Veterinary Services |
|
The Ocean Shores Animal Hospital is located at the corner of Ocean Shores Boulevard and Barnacle Street. The center offers full veterinary services, grooming and pet supplies, and indoor heated kennels for both residents' and visitors' pets. The center offers extended hours during the peak seasons. |

Police |
|
The department , located south of the city gates at 577 Pt. Brown Avenue NW, is staffed with 14 commissioned officers, two full-time administrative records clerks, and a code enforcement/animal control officer. The fleet consists of 14 patrol vehicles, 13 of which are four-wheel drive, and three are unmarked. Officers are assigned, in addition to their regular patrol functions, as surf rescue team members, DARE officers, boating officers, commercial and residential security advisors, and liaisons with various community groups. The code enforcement/animal control official is charged with the enforcement of select zoning ordinances as well as the collection and care of stray domestic and nuisance wild animals. The police department operates a department-wide community policing operation and also has a large volunteer organization that staff several programs such as property watch, night business district patrol, office support, boat patrols and a summer beach information trailer. Patrols are provided 24 hours a day and are dispatched by a central county Enhanced 911 center. |

Fire and emergency care |
|
The fire department , located at 676 Pt. Brown Avenue NE, is staffed by ten career and 24 paid-call personnel. The station is manned 24 hours a day by a minimum of two on-duty personnel with 911 emergency number access. Twelve "Volunteers In Prevention" help perform business life safety inspections and staff the office. Fire protection is provided by two fire engines, one 85-foot aerial platform, and a brush engine. An automatic aid agreement with Grays Harbor Fire District #7 provides additional assistance when needed. Fire insurance ratings for both residential and commercial property is Class 6. |

There is one weekly newspapers in Ocean Shores, the North Coast News. One monthly paper, the Ocean Observer. Daily home delivery of the Daily World (Aberdeen), Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Seattle Times, Anchorage Times and USA Today are also available to local residents. |

Internet access is available through several local providers including Techline (Aberdeen), Olynet (Olympia), CoastAccess (Ocean Shores) offers broadband and modem access and Qwest offers DSL. |

Transit |
|
Ocean Shores has bus service provided by the Grays Harbor Transit system. There are several round trips between Aberdeen and Ocean Shores daily and on Sundays. There is also service between downtown Ocean Shores and the marina as well as Dial-A-Ride service on weekdays. Transit reaches all areas of the county. Bus fares are a flat 50¢ anywhere in the county. |

Coast guard station |

Located at Westport, the Coast Guard station services Washington's central coastal area. It is fully equipped for sea or helicopter rescue. |

Airport facilities |
|
Airport facilities - City owned and operated, the airport is located on the bay half a mile east of the downtown area. The airport includes a 2,700' blacktop runway, sod taxiways, lighted runways (pilot operated), and tie downs on blacktop. A pay phone and pilot's lounge are located on site. |
